Three police officers were shot and injured Sunday while responding to a domestic disturbance incident in Tremonton, Utah, according to law enforcement officials.

Detective Crystal Beck of the Brigham City Police Department confirmed during a press conference that the suspect opened fire immediately upon officers’ arrival at the residence. The initial responding officers stopped answering radio calls after being hit, prompting additional units to rush to the scene.

Backup officers successfully took the suspect into custody, Beck said. The conditions of the three wounded officers remain unknown at this time.

Authorities reported that no civilians were injured, and there is currently no ongoing threat to the public, although a shelter-in-place order is still active as a precaution.
